We had the pleasure of receiving another cruise ship visit to Bougainville! The premium cruise liner Ponant Le Jacques Cartier sailed into the Autonomous Region of Bougainville on the 4th and 5th March 2025. The Ponant, an environmentally friendly modern ship visited the shores of the Taiof Islands on the 5th March with more than 90 tourists, mostly from France, and a few from USA, Australia , Germany and China. The Taiof islanders had the honor of welcoming their guests with the traditional “feet washing ceremony”, cultural singing and lively dancing.
